Due to the continued current adverse security situation in Mumbai, India, the P-MEC India exhibition has been postponed to 2009. The new dates and venue will be announced as soon as possible. This decision has been taken by exhibition organizers in consultation with the industry and local authorities in the interest of the safety and security of visitors and exhibitors alike.

Last edition of P-Mec India exhibition held in Mumbai in November 2007 was a big hit with visitors for the IMA Group. This was the first time IMA took part in the Indian show dedicated to the pharmaceutical market, with a number of packaging machines of various kind on show.

Over the three days of the exhibition, the IMA’s stand was visited by hundreds of professionals from the major local pharmaceutical companies and international MNC.

Thanks to this positive experience, IMA decided to further invest on the market and being present, this year, too, with a far bigger booth and a higher number of machines of the latest generation.

India is still confirmed to be one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical markets at a rate of 8-9% annually, and is to become the first pharmaceutical hub in the world.

IMA can boast a long standing presence on the Indian market. In 1995 IMA acquired the 51% of Precision Gears Pvt. Ltd., based in Mumbai and specialised in the design and manufacturing of blister and cartoning machines for emerging markets. In 2006 IMA signed a contract to buy shares equal to 34% of the share capital of Precision Gears. In recent years Precision Gears has achieved excellent results both in India and in emerging markets, maintaining a high capacity for technological innovation and customer service that has always been one of IMA's distinguishing features. 

This year, to further consolidate the market penetration, with the acquisition of the former BOC EDWARDS Freeze-Drying business, IMA is placing itself as a leading company in the manufacturing and supply of processing and packaging machines for the aseptic field.

BRIO Pharma Technologies Pvt. Ltd., located in Mumbai, represents and promotes all the production lines of the IMA Group for the pharmaceutical industry already since several years. It’s a recent news that BRIO Pharma will also represent IMA EDWARDS in INDIA, with a dedicated sales and field service network.  

At P-MEC 2008 the IMA Group, together with BRIO Pharma and Precision Gears Ltd., will exhibit innovative solutions for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.

IMA Active Division
Solid Dose Solutions

IMA Active Division offers a complete range of machines for processing and production of solid dose products - granulation equipment, tablet press machines manufactured both by IMA and by Kilian, capsule filling machines, coating systems, checkweighers for capsules and tablets as well as powder handling and washing systems manufactured by Zanchetta

On show, the Kilian Synthesis 500, a force feed die filling tablet press machine, with low servicing costs and long life cycle. It has been designed for easy operation and cleaning. The Synthesis 500 reaches a production speed of 360,000 tablets/hour.

Also on show, the 40F, a capsule filling machine, providing maximum versatility in terms of combinations of workable products, thanks to the possibility to fit different dosing units (40,000 capsules/hour).

IMA Life
Aseptic Processing & Filling Solutions

IMA Life offers machines for washing and sterilising pharmaceutical vials, filling and stoppering machines for aseptic environments, filling and closing machines for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, microdosing machines for aseptic powder filling and, thanks to the acquisition of IMA Edwards, freeze-drying machinery. The best in freeze-drying technology, hand-in-hand with the world’s leading name in one stop aseptic processing and filling solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

IMA Life will exhibit the Sterifill F2000. With continuous motion positive transport system, the machine is suitable for filling liquid solutions into cylindrical vials and for insertion of rubber stoppers. Designed for drugs processing in aseptic conditions either in traditional class 100 area or in isolation technology at very high speed (up to 600 vials/minute).

IMA Safe
Packaging Solutions

IMA Safe offers the widest range of blister machines on the market, from low to extremely high speed (up to 1,300 blisters/minute), with or without integrated cartoners, including machines manufactured by Precision Gears. The company, together with Nova Packaging Systems and Swiftpack Automation, also offers counting machines. tube fillers are suitable to fill pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and chemical products. Horizontal and vertical cartoners manufactured by IMA Safe for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries complement this wide range of products.

IMA Safe will present the TR200, a very flexible and economical two row blister machine. It has been designed for small to medium production runs (360 blisters/minute) and will be exhibited in line with the Dynamica, a continuous motion horizontal cartoner at high speed (up to 400 cartons/minute).

Also on show, the PG Excel, a new blister machine ideal for small and medium batches which is highly flexible. It has an excellent quality/price ratio and is suitable for the packaging of tablets, capsules and dragées (180 blisters/minute).

Finally on show, the new automatic tube filler manufactured by Precision Gears in collaboration with for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, chemical and foodstuff products (60 tubes/minute). It is suitable for aluminium, laminate, polythene and polyfoil tubes and is available with a large list of optional groups to complete every specific request.
